Trepid Designs has been making corsets for 6 years. The affinity for corsetry arose with beginning patternmaking courses in college. With 3 years of sewing skills previously acquired, corset making quickly blossomed into a passion. Each corset requires a minimum of 25 hours of labor. Some of our more elaborate designs and specialty corsets have taken nearly 40 hours.

Once measurements are received we quickly begin drafting a pattern specifically for the individual client according to the chosen style. Next the materials are prepared with pressing and stabilizing. We then carefully cut each piece taking notice to match fabric patterns. After that it's all sewing! As the corset takes its shape, energy is focused on accurate stitching. If you have ever seen a true corset close up you would recognize multitude of seams and topstitching. Our corsets are gracefully sewn to ensure a lifetime of cinching.
